Beneath the Leaves

What’s underneath

The blanket of leaves

You may get a glimpse

When the autumn breeze

Swiftly blows

Brushing some aside

Revealing hidden places

Where the critters hide

In beds freshly made

Of moss, nuts, and seeds

The first for warmth

The second two for feed

The critters gather

Arrange and prepare

A winter resting place

For all to share

Beneath the leaves

Thanks for stopping by!
