The air, crisp and cool
We see our breath rise
We carve pumpkins
To have mouths and eyes
A scary movie plays
On the TV inside
Under our beds
The spooky things hide
A chill down our skin
From head to toe
Is warmed by cinnamon
From a candle’s glow
The candy dish, once full
Now, unmistakably low
A desperate howl
To the moon so bright
Brings wide-eyed wonder
On Halloween night
