My Favorite Tree

My favorite tree

Has been dropping her leaves

It’s as if she too

Feels the rampant unease

So much unrest

To hear and see

Wildfires, floods

Viral disease

Still, she digs deep

Deep into the ground

Until what was lost

Is once again found

In the air, the dirt

The churning sea

A new leaf unfurls

On my favorite tree

Thanks for stopping by!
