Open Window

The breeze swirls

Through the open window

From deep in the night

Where the summer stars twinkle

A chorus of insects

Sing a folksy song

To the strumming of their strings

An owl sings along

The melody fades

The night is still and calm

Through the open window

My serenade is gone

Sleep tiptoes in

To close my eyes ‘til dawn

Thanks for stopping by!
