It was on the banks Of the rushing stream Where wild mosses grew Plush, damp, and green That a tiny yellow bud Began to flirt Peeking a sunny head From drunken dirt Unwilling to wait For the sun to rise Higher and higher In a summer sky Singing birds confirmed Spring had arrived
In the depths of darkness A secret lies in wait Hidden but a moment Soon to reveal its fate After days covered By dirt and mud These necessary evils Create a perfect bud That will soon blossom For all to see Awakened by the sunshine A spring flower soon will be
A blessing for all Weary eyes to see Is the beauty beheld In the buds on a tree; Clusters of hope That hold secrets inside Of the sweet taste of pear More time will provide
