This time of year

When going outdoors

Her own plush fur

Just isn’t enough

For a Texas dog

New England winters are tough

And what about their feet

How do you keep them warm

Mine won’t wear booties

After a snowstorm

She much prefers snuggles

On a cold winter’s day

And dreaming of when

Again, she will play

Without a coat

In the warmth of May
