There was a time

Water met sand

Wave after wave

Slipped through our hands

Still, castles were built

On innocent dreams

And came alive

With a salty stream

That filled the moat

Just a little too fast

As waves rushed in

We watched it crash

But, dreams of a child

Aren’t so easily broken

A castle there’d be

On a new spot, we’d chosen

Away from the waves

Near the plumes of grass

With sand not measured

By an hourglass

Our dreams transformed

Before our eyes

Becoming castles

That touched the sky
