Picked from the dirt

Right where they grow

Arranged in a vase

On long stems for show;

Petals plucked

And counted one by one

Blooms pressed between pages

Or neatly hung;

As keepsakes dried

With memories, inside

A flower left alone

Will beautify outside;

Decorating the land

And pleasing the eye

Scenting the air

From the ground to the sky;

A friendly gesture

An expression of love

Or simply admired

while standing above;

Stop and smell the roses

And the wildflower field

Where beauty is cultivated

Or has a natural appeal;

Picked or planted

Pruned or windblown

May your garden’s flowers

Always bloom and grow
