The newly fallen snow
Had stories to tell
Much had happened
Since first, it fell
It kept no secrets
Neither did the moon
What happened at night
Would be revealed soon
Under the glisten
Of celestial light
The rabbits hopped
The owls took flight
The mice scurried
Down under the snow
A chase from the cat
Snowy footprints did show
Their paths in the morning
Led this way and that
The dog’s nose
Smelled rabbit, mice, and cat
Written upon
The newly fallen snow
