Echo of Crows

Echo of crows Shatters the air Who they bother They do not care They’re on the hunt For pumpkin seeds From Jack O’ Lanterns Thrown in the weeds October’s rejects Broken and rotten Are pillaged by crows Before forgotten Sunken into The earth below Eulogized by Echo of crows

Dear October

At your beginning, October, You’re subtle and nice Giving us apple pies And pumpkin spice Colorful leaves adrift On autumn dreams By your end, though, October You’re a scream You’re not as innocent As once you seemed You’re shadows and spiders Fog and moonlight Will you trick or treat us On Halloween night?

Perfect Days

Perfect days are meant To be bottled and saved Uncorked and savored On less-perfect days On days that need brightening In every way They will bless us with colors That with us will stay To uplift our spirits On those less-perfect days
