Her bucket was heavy With too much weight Despite the burdens She knew life could be great So, she emptied her bucket Drip by drip And avoided the mud So, she didn’t slip With eyes wide open She picked up a pen Wrote her own bucket list And began again
Wake up From a dream Or keep on dreaming Keep on scheming About a place so good You can’t help but stay A little longer Like you belong there As the real world Dives deeper Into nightmares And creatures So real that they wish They could just Wake up
When day goes black Eyes look to the sky To dream and wonder About where and why To remember how small Problems can be When into the vastness Our gaze lets us see Just far enough A glimpse at best To keep us guessing About all the rest
The morning birds sing A song I’ve longed to hear A welcome, A farewell They sing this time of year A welcome to spring’s Saving grace A farewell to winter’s Scowling face The morning birds sing Under shifting skies As spring is born Of winter’s demise

Remains of a snowman Are sad to see Just a dirty pile Of leaves and debris He has no button eyes And no carrot nose In a gust of wind Away his scarf blows Remains of a snowman Are sad to see He’s now just a spot For the dogs to pee
It started to unravel All on its own But wasn’t noticed Until a hole had shown Broken threads Tattered and torn A once perfect design Faded and worn Edges jagged Where seams used to be What once was complete Is no more to see The fabric of time Now a threadbare sheet
Wake me when it’s spring When the flowers are in bloom When the birds gladly sing When the sun sits higher in the sky And a warm night the moon soon brings
A crack of thunder Foretells of rain A lightning bolt Threatens pain Yet still, we dance Dance in the rain Until the sun Does shine again To dry the puddles We’re dancing in
