July is a tough month
What’s a dog to do?
With so many noises
How will I get through?
There are daytime booms
As thunderstorms roll through
And night booms that light up
Red, white, and blue
And then there’s the sirens
On the 4th of July
During the parade
Where scary flags fly
As firecrackers pop
And megaphones screech
I’m the anxious dog
Who stays just out of reach
Stretched to my limit
At the end of my leash
